CN Telegraph Crew – 1957

CN Telegraph had set up a “camp” for the crew. This gentleman (Paul Krawchuk) was the railcar operator. He was 17 years old and work for  Canadian National Telegraph (CNT) and was installing Telegraph lines in northern BC, Yukon and NWT. This photo preserves a point in time on the railway and CN Telegraph history. A lot of these workers went on to work for (Alberta Government Telephones) as well as The City of Edmonton Telephone System which became EdTel. They amalgamated and are now known as Telus.
